Where Do You Work?

I have a private practice working primarily online using video and telephone calls and I work with people across the UK. I have a private counselling room available in the Scottish Highlands for those who wish to work in person.

What Happens When I Contact You?

We can arrange a brief call to discuss what you’re looking for and how I might be able to support you. If this would be helpful, please let me know the best number to contact you on and when you’re free to speak. There's no charge for this call.

During the first session we will discuss your situation and the possibilities of working together, as well as any questions and concerns you might have. Choosing a counsellor who is right for you is important to the success of any counselling. If what I offer is not what you are looking for, I can suggest alternatives, or refer you to a colleague.

Is Online Counselling and EMDR Therapy Effective?

The short answer is yes. There are some important considerations when having online counselling. You need to think about where your counselling sessions will take place.

The space needs to be somewhere you can speak without being overheard, or interrupted. Sometimes sitting in a different room from where you normally relax isn't possible, so you can sit in a different chair, or move the angle the chair to create a counselling space. This can help you to separate your home and your counselling sessions.

What Is Psychodynamic Counselling?

Psychodynamic counselling helps us to understand how thoughts, feelings and behaviours are linked to past experiences, and explores our unconscious and its impact on our conscious choices. Psychodynamic therapy can help with many different problems, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma and addictions. Learn more about psychodynamic counselling on the BACP website.

What Is EMDR Counselling?

EMDR is an advanced psychotherapy that's been around since the 1980’s. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and sessions involve using side to side eye movements combined with psychodynamic counselling.

EMDR can help to process negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that can seem stuck, keeping you in the past. Learn more about EMDR by watching the video. emdr therapy online therapy

How Much Does Counselling Cost?

The cost of counselling is £55 per session.

I have a limited amount of reduced fee sessions available and we can speak about this when you contact me.

What If We Speak And I Don't Want To Continue?

You are under no obligation to continue with counselling. What matters is whether you think we can work together initially. It’s ok for you to ask questions and to evaluate whether this is the right match for you.
